Tilney expands Exeter team with chartered financial planner18 November 2020
Leading wealth manager Tilney, which completed a transformational merger with Smith & Williamson in September to create the UK’s largest integrated wealth management and professional services group, is continuing to recruit new talent during the COVID-19 crisis. The latest addition is Lisa Anderson who joins the team in Exeter as a chartered financial planner.
Lisa is a highly qualified and technical financial planner who has spent over two decades in the advice profession. Lisa joins Tilney from Quilter Private Client Advisers where she worked alongside investment management division Quilter Cheviot having previously spent 11 years at Old Mill, a firm of accountants and financial planners based in the south-west.
As part of Tilney’s ‘dual expert’ approach, Lisa will work closely with the firm’s award winning investment managers to provide a high quality integrated wealth management service to enable clients to organise their financial affairs and have an investment strategy tailored to their objectives. The recent merger with Smith & Williamson will also enable Tilney to support clients with tax advice and an extensive range of services to support their business interests through S&W’s professional services arm. The combined group, which is currently operating through the existing Tilney and Smith & Williamson brands, supports clients with the management of over £47 billion of their assets.
Both Tilney and Smith & Williamson successfully migrated to a remote working model ahead of the first lockdown in mid-March and has been able to fully support clients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The firm’s financial planners and investment managers have full access to its systems through secure technology to enable them to advise clients from home and can conduct meetings using video conferencing services and over the telephone.
Mark Wilkins, managing partner for Tilney in Exeter, commented: “The pandemic has caused a great deal of financial uncertainty and while hope may be on the horizon that effective vaccines will bring an end to the health crisis and allow an eventual return to normality, there is still a long way to go. People are understandably very concerned about their financial futures and high-quality advice has never been more important. Against this backdrop, it is very reassuring to attract financial planners of Lisa’s calibre to Tilney. Lisa has a wealth of experience and will be well-placed to help steer the people of Exeter and the South West through this difficult time and I am delighted to welcome her to the team.”
