Tilney Smith & Williamson continues expansion of Exeter office with two Financial Planner appointments

Tilney Smith & Williamson, the leading wealth management and professional services firm, has continued to invest in expanding its team in Exeter by making two Financial Planner appointments. Mark Newman and Stephen Read join the firm at an exciting time for the office in Sterling Court which goes into 2022 seeing increased demand for its services.

Mark Newman joins Tilney Smith & Williamson from Kelsall Steele Investment Services where he worked as a Senior Financial Planner for more than three and a half years in the firm’s Truro office. Prior to Kelsall Steele, Mark gained extensive experience in the financial services industry, holding various key positions including at a FTSE 100 investment adviser for eight years. At Tilney Smith & Williamson Mark will focus on covering Cornwall. He is also a Chartered Member of the CISI.

Stephen Read joins from Succession Wealth where he cultivated an interest in financial planning whilst working as Mergers & Acquisitions Manager. In a career spanning 30 years, his previous experience saw him progress through a series of corporate finance, treasury and accounting roles at energy, technology and investment companies both in the UK and in Switzerland. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Tilney Smith & Williamson’s Exeter office, in the heart of the city, delivers personal financial planning and investment management services to clients across the West Country. In recent months, it has made a number of significant Financial Planner hires - including that of Neil Thornton and Neil Sparkes - to help keep pace with demand.
